PORTLAND, Maine (WABI/WMTW) - On Monday, Senator Susan Collins helped introduce a bill to reopen the government.

The bill does not include any guarantees to provide funding for the Affordable Care Act; the main reason Democratic lawmakers had refused to agree to reopen the government.

Some Mainers are not happy with her Collins’s decision, and more than a dozen people protested outside her Portland office on Monday.

They’re calling for the extension of funding for health care.

Demonstrators say they are worried about the impact higher insurance premiums would have on thousands of Mainers.
