CARMEL – Ten veterans who served in World War II and Vietnam as well as more recent conflicts were recognized with song, prose and Old Glory during a breakfast Monday at St. James School in Carmel.
Biographies of the American heroes were recited by upperclassmen while books were dedicated to the vets and each of America’s heroes was presented with an American flag individually folded by the students.
School Principal Maura Crawford thanked the veterans for their service as well as commending students and faculty for their hard work and dedication to America’s veterans.
St. James veteran honorees included Jerry Borreggine who served in Vietnam with the Army in 1968 and 1969; Thomas Healy, a Purple Heart veteran who also served in Vietnam; Michael Masciola, a 99-year-old World War II vete
