Patricia Fox remembers her son, Jared, as always wanting to be in the Air Force.

“I have quite a few nieces and nephews who were in the Air Force. He was very interested in following them. He loved it,” Mrs. Fox said.

Mr. Fox became a technical sergeant after enlisting in 2006. He was eventually deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq.

He died in April at just 36 years old due to a heart condition he did not know he had, Mrs. Fox said.

On Tuesday, she will stand in for him when his name is added to the Bowsher High School Wall of Honor along with 17 other Bowsher veterans in the military wing of the school.

“I am very proud of Jared for his military service,” Mrs. Fox said.

She described her son as “very friendly” and a bit of a perfectionist.
