BISMARCK, N.D. — Two current North Dakota Supreme Court justices are now candidates to become the next Chief Justice. Justices Lisa Fair McEvers and Jerod Tufte will both seek the role.
Current Chief Justice Jon Jensen announced last week he will not serve another term as chief, though he will remain on the bench.
Fair McEvers has served on the high court since 2014; Tufte since 2016. The Chief Justice is chosen by sitting Supreme Court justices and district judges. Ballots were mailed November 10 and will be counted December 10.
