Duke basketball remains a top-5 team in the rankings ahead of the second week of the college hoops season.
Duke (2-0) defeated Texas 75-60 in the Dick Vitale Invitational to open its season on Nov. 4 behind 23 points from Isaiah Evans and a double-double of 15 points – all coming in the second half – and 13 boards from freshman Cameron Boozer. It then rolled to a 95-54 home-opening win over Western Carolina at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Nov. 8 behind 25 points, eight assists and five rebounds from Cameron Boozer. Through two games, Boozer is averaging a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Following its 2-0 start, Duke saw itself move up one spot to No. 4 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll and two spots in the AP Poll from No. 6 to No. 4. Both polls were released on Monday, Nov.
