Amelia Malarz always stares straight forward with a locked-in focus.
Which isn’t easy for a head-spinning athlete.
The Midland Dow sophomore got her varsity career off to a whirlwind start a year ago and is building on her already dazzling resume with an impression concentration on the mission.
“Amelia has always brought a goal-focused approach to everything she does in the pool,” Dow coach Jon Meier said. “This year, it has been great to see growth as a team leader both in and out of the pool.”
With a state championship and three All-State performances in hand, Malarz is poised for another impactful state final for the Chargers. This season, she’ll arrive at the Division 2 championships as a known entity.
After all, she was just voted the Top Underclassman on the state’s high school
