GENESEE COUNTY, MI -- Some top county government officials would receive pay increases of just a few hundred dollars under a proposal the Board of Commissioners is expected to consider later this week.
But others -- particularly those whose pay lags behind their counterparts here or elsewhere in Michigan -- stand to receive significant raises if commissioners approve recommendations proposed by Commissioner Shuan Shumaker .
The Fenton Township Republican introduced his proposal during a committee meeting last week, and commissioners agreed to send it to the full board for a final vote that could come as soon as Wednesday, Nov. 12.
