Inspector Magnifique was photographed near police outside the Louvre a few hours after the jewelry heist so the internet assumed that this well dressed man was part of the investigation. The Associated Press in hopes of identifying him, but his description of what happened that day was simply: "He appeared in front of me, I saw him, I took the photo. He passed by and left."
