Two people are lucky to be alive after their vehicle collided with a freight train early Tuesday morning in Maryland, officials said.
Crews from the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department were called to the area of Lawrence Place and Kenilworth Avenue in Bladensburg around 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, for reports of a train versus vehicle collision.
Fire officials said both occupants of the vehicle were evaluated by EMS on the scene but refused transport to the hospital.
Units remained at the scene for several hours as crews worked to clear the area and assist with safety checks along the CSX rail line.
No further details about the cause of the collision have been released.
