A micro pub in St Ives has been told its customers can use an outdoor courtyard, despite objections about the impact the change could have on neighbouring churches. Objectors raised concerns about increased noise if The Snug, based in Free Church Passage, was allowed to use the outside area more often.
However, the owner of the micro pub, Matthew Kelly, said it was a “high quality establishment, with good quality clientele” adding that he was committed to maintaining good relations with the pub’s neighbours.
Mr Kelly applied to Huntingdonshire District Council to change The Snug’s licence to expand the area for “permitted activities”, including supply of alcohol, to cover the exterior courtyard to the front of the pub.
