The Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) has released the latest figures, revealing that over 1.7 million older people, including 155,200 in Scotland, are currently receiving additional financial support through Attendance Allowance.

It's crucial to note that new claims for Attendance Allowance in Scotland have been replaced by the Pension Age Disability Payment, a devolved benefit managed and delivered by Social Security Scotland. Existing claimants residing in Scotland will transition to this new payment by the end of next month.

Both benefits offer either £73.90 or £110.40 per week, intended to assist individuals of State Pension age with daily living costs. These payments are distributed every four weeks.
