(WHTM) - Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) says he "should have quit" his 2022 U.S. Senate race after suffering a stroke four days before the primary.
According to an excerpt of his new book "Unfettered," Fetterman detailed the weeks and months following his stroke. "Unfettered" is set to be released on Tuesday.
Fetterman won the 2022 Democratic primary by more than 30 points, despite the May 13 stroke; however, many Democrats had already voted by mail before learning of Fetterman's medical episode.
Fetterman, who was then the state's Lieutenant Governor, received a pacemaker and defibrillator in the days following his stroke. His campaign at the time said the stroke was caused by a clot from his “heart being in an A-fib rhythm for too long.”
