A wildlife rehabilitation center outside Alburtis announced over the weekend that two of three escaped African servals were home safe.
The three wild cats native to sub-Saharan Africa ran off after trees toppled by high winds breached their enclosure overnight last week at Cricket Wildlife Center.
The center posted Saturday afternoon to Facebook that one of the three was recaptured, and announced that evening that a second was home safe.
They had been spotted remaining close to Cricket, in the triangle between Huffs Church, Bitting and Delong roads, according to the earlier post Saturday.
Cricket Wildlife Center, at 100 Bitting Road, is in western Berks County’s District Township but uses an Alburtis mailing address. Alburtis is a nearby borough in Lehigh County.
