A child and two others were attacked by a roaming dog last week on a Lancaster street, police said.

Police said the dog was chasing one person and had bitten two others, including the child, when officers were dispatched around 5:15 p.m. Friday on the 400 block of Beaver Street.

The dog was secured with non-lethal force, police said. Its owner arrived after the dog was contained and retrieved the animal.

Police said the child who was bitten was taken to a hospital.

The incident is under investigation, police said, and no charges have been announced.
