A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 12:48 p.m. for snow showers until 4 p.m. for Carbon, Monroe and Northampton counties.
"Scattered snow showers will continue through this afternoon north of the I-78 corridor. Minor accumulations may continue and strong gusty winds of up to 35-45 MPH may result in brief reductions in visibility due to blowing snow. While traveling, be prepared for any rapidly changing conditions. Leave extra space between you and the vehicles in front of you," according to the weather service.
