ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WBTV) - A missing man was found dead, floating in a river in North Carolina on Monday, officials said.
The man -- 31-year-old Jevon Rashad Battle -- was first reported missing on Nov. 3, per the Nash County Sheriff’s Office .
A week later on Nov. 10, Rocky Mount police said a body was found floating in the Tar River near Rocky Mount Mills.
The Rocky Mount Fire Department’s swift water rescue team got the body out of the water, and authorities identified it as Battle.
It was not immediately clear how Battle died, nor how he ended up in the water; however, the sheriff’s office said his body was sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Greenville for an autopsy.
