A Newport News man was arrested and charged in connection to another man’s killing in Virginia Beach early Monday evening.
Around 5:25 p.m., dispatchers received a call about a shooting in the 900 block of Thousand Oaks Drive, according to a release. That’s in an apartment complex off Wildwood Drive, near First Colonial Road in the northern area of the city.
Virginia Beach police officers arrived and found 34-year-old Markel Alexander Cephas with a gunshot wound, according to police. He died at the scene.
Detectives arrested and charged 19-year-old Roberto Amir Inniss, of Newport News, with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
