The party kicked off early Tuesday at the opening of Raising Cane’s at 5435 Carlisle Pike in Hampden Township.
Hundreds of people lined up at the chicken finger chain at the Beltway Towne Centre near BJ’s Wholesale Club.
Festivities included a ribbon cutting and “Lucky 20” drawing to award 20 customers, age 13 and older, “Free Cane’s for a Year.”
The restaurant is the second Raising Cane’s in the Harrisburg area, joining one that opened earlier this year at 5040 Jonestown Road in Lower Paxton Township.
The chain was founded in 1996 by Todd Graves in Baton Rouge and specializes in fresh fried chicken, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw and Texas toast, as well as a tangy yet spicy secret dipping sauce.
