WEYMOUTH, Mass. —
The Weymouth, Massachusetts, community gathered at the Korean War Memorial to honor veterans Tuesday, including a tribute to a World War II soldier whose remains returned home recently after 81 years.
"It is a great honor and a privilege to serve your community, especially this country," said Genie Boland, a U.S. Army veteran.
A parade stepped off from the memorial, heading to the town hall and featuring veterans of all ages and those who love them.
"The town of Weymouth is very unique in the fact that it's the home of five Medal of Honor recipients," said George Pontes, Weymouth's director of veterans services. "We have such a high percentage of people who continue to serve their country."
