The British comedian John Cleese, of Monty Python fame, has canceled three upcoming performances in Israel, which had already been postponed from June, Israeli media reported.

The promoter, Alon Yurik, reportedly said Cleese had given in to the movement to boycott the Jewish state.

In recent days, Cleese has shared several anti-Israel posts on social media, including one quoting actor Mandy Patinkin saying that the Israeli prime minister is “endangering Jews all around the world” and a post calling for Miriam Adelson, who is Jewish, to be kicked out of the United States.

Cleese has shared posts by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who recently called Adelson, an American, an “Israeli citizen” who “is buying politicians.”
