DULUTH, Minn. — A Duluth group home employee is charged with criminal vehicular operation and a handful of additional criminal offenses after prosecutors say he drove two residents in a company van at speeds exceeding 100 mph, eventually crashing into another vehicle and injuring the driver.
The allegations against 19-year-old Michael Edward Rahja Jr. are laid out in a criminal complaint filed in St. Louis County Court. On November 6, Duluth police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Martin Road and Jean Duluth Road on reports of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, they found a 2024 Chrysler van and a 2013 Honda Pilot badly damaged, with a woman trapped inside the Honda.
