BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Former LSU head football coach Brian Kelly, fired last month after a 5-3 start to the season, has, along with his legal team, prepared a lawsuit against the Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors, alleging breach of contract and seeking millions in liquidated damages.
The lawsuit has not yet been filed with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court. The clerk’s office was closed on Tuesday for Veterans Day.

Kelly and Brian Kelly Football LLC are seeking a declaratory judgment from the court, asking it to confirm that his termination was “without cause” and that LSU is obligated to pay the full liquidated damages outlined in his employment agreement.
