GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Greenville Mayor Knox White was awarded the Order of Palmetto on Tuesday.

Governor Henry McMaster presented the award during the dedication ceremony of the Thomas and Vivian A. Wong Honor Tower at Unity Park .

The Order of Palmetto is South Carolina’s highest civilian honor. According to the governor’s office, it is presented in recognition of a lifetime of extraordinary achievement, service, and contributions on a national or statewide scale.
