Lee Buchanan is on target to return in the New Year and bolster Birmingham City’s defensive options.
The left-back has been sidelined since sustaining a serious knee injury in the final game of 2024 but he is now entering the final stages of his recovery.
Speaking on Blue Rising, Buchanan said: “I'm 10 months in now so it's been quite a while since I had my surgery and the injury happened but I've been back outside on the grass. I was outside for about six weeks then had a little niggle in my calf so I should be back out a week on Monday. When I'm outside and in the gym I feel good.”
Buchanan struggled with a calf injury at the beginning of last season before making his comeback in December and netting his first goal for Blues in a 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers.
