MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Governor Tony Evers is demanding the release of federal aid payments Tuesday for 20 Wisconsin school districts.

Gov. Tony Evers explained the Impact Aid payments, which are used by schools for operations such as payroll, programs, transportation, new positions, and other critical areas, were supposed to be sent out in October.

Evers sent a letter to U.S. Department of Education Secretary McMahon, urging her to release the funding that serves over 21,000 Wisconsin children.

“Wisconsin schools waiting to receive funding that has been inexplicably delayed is just the latest in a long list of examples of the real and harmful impacts you and your administration are inflicting on Wisconsin’s kids and schools, particularly those in our rural communities,” Evers wrote in
