PITTSBURG – Brentwood Assistant City Manager Darin Gale is likely to be selected as Pittsburg’s next city manager when the council takes up the matter next week.
Gale, who has had the assistant role with Brentwood since 2022, took over as the city’s interim city manager following the departure of Tim Ogden in April. Last month, Brentwood appointed G. Harold Duffey to take over the position permanently.
The Pittsburg City Council is expected to consider Gale for the city manager position at its next meeting on Nov. 17, said Mayor Jelani Killings. If approved, he would start on Dec. 15.
Following the retirement of City Manager Garrett Evans in September, Pittsburg hired Peckham & McKenney, an executive search firm, to help with the recruitment process to replace him.
