ANN ARBOR, Mich. — What a difference a year makes for Michigan edge rusher Derrick Moore.
Last year, Moore had trouble getting home on opposing quarterbacks, playing disruptor while his teammate on the edge, Josaiah Stewart, piled up the sacks and accolades.
Nine games into the 2025 season, Moore not only leads the Wolverines in sacks with nine, but he’s fifth nationally among players with the same number of games under their belt. And he has the recent stretch of victories, over Washington, Michigan State and Purdue, to thank for helping him climb the stat sheet.
Moore recorded two sacks in each of the three games, a feat not accomplished by a Michigan player since 2006, when LaMarr Woodley recorded six sacks during a three-game stretch.
