NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - HCA Healthcare and K-9s For Warriors partnered on Veterans Day to name a service dog for a Tennessee veteran in need.
The dog was named Tuesday during a Veterans Day breakfast in Nashville hosted by the healthcare organization. Two other veterans and their canine companions were also honored at the event and presented a check.
The two organizations were able to name the dog after teaming up to raise money for the cause.
The groups ended up exceeding their fundraising goal, raising more than $30,000 in under a year through bake sales, virtual runs and “a generous donation from HCA Healthcare’s leadership,” according to a press release.
