Police are looking for a driver after a man died in an alleged hit-run in Adelaide's north.

They said a 25-year-old man was struck by a car on Hillier Road at Hillier just before 8pm on Tuesday.

Senior Constable Liam Bennett told ABC Radio Adelaide the involved vehicle allegedly failed to stop after the crash and immediately sped off.

The Andrews Farm man was seriously injured and was taken to hospital but he died shortly after.
