Folks taking a walk on Tuesday evening would have been rewarded with a brilliant display of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).
The bright reds, greens and blues were reported across southern Manitoba and even into the USA last night.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Space Weather Prediction Centre, the stunning display is due to what's believed to have been the arrival of the first two of three anticipated coronal mass ejections (CMEs) from the sun. The third is expected to arrive mid-day, but due to the sun being up, we won't see any Aurora Borealis at that time.
