Motorists are facing "severe delays" on the M6 this evening after a collision brought traffic to a standstill. All vehicles have been halted on the M6 Thelwall Viaduct northbound between junction 20 (Lymm Interchange) and junction 21 Manchester Road (Woolston).
Lanes three and four remain shut with queues stretching back at least 60 minutes on approach, National Highways confirmed.
There is also six miles of tailbacks following the smash.
