FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WNDU) - United States Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was in Fort Wayne on Wednesday morning, headlining the 4th Annual Northeast Indiana Defense Summit.
According to our affiliate WPTA , the summit is hosted by Indiana Sen. Jim Banks (R). Each year, leading U.S. national security officials, defense industry experts, and state and local officials gather for the event.
During the summit, Hegseth spoke about the recent attacks in Latin America.
“We’re doing it in defense of the American people with all the authorities — we’ve got lawyers on lawyers — all the authorities necessary to do so, treating these terrorists like the al-Qaeda of the western hemisphere,” Sec. Hegseth said.
