LARAMIE — The perfect season lives on.
The University of Wyoming men’s basketball team held off visiting Austin Peay 79-65 on Tuesday night at the Arena-Auditorium to improve to 3-0 on the season.
It marks the Cowboys’ first 3-0 start to a season since 2021-22, which was the last year they made the NCAA Tournament.
The loss was the Governors’ first, dropping them to 2-1.
The Cowboys overcame early turnover struggles by outscoring Austin Peay 42-30 in the second half. They finished 27-of-63 (42.9%) from the field and tied in the turnover battle at 16, despite having 12 in the first half.
Still, second-year head coach Sundance Wicks wasn't thrilled with his team's showing in the first half. The Cowboys led by just two points through the first 20 minutes.
