KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An airman with the Whiteman Air Force Base (AFB) is reportedly the suspect involved in a morning shooting that left a bystander dead, another person injured and multiple schools on lockdown in Warrensburg, Missouri, police reported.

According to Johnson County Emergency Management, an alert was sent to residents and schools early Wednesday morning, stating that East Hale Lake Road, Ridgeview Drive and Mitchell Street were all closed due to an active police presence in the area.
