PHOENIX — A Phoenix police officer is facing criminal charges after a rollover crash that injured three people, including the officer, earlier this year, authorities announced Wednesday.
The officer, who has not been identified and was on duty, was allegedly going 50 mph above the speed limit before the crash, which happened in the early morning hours of March 14, near the Interstate 17 access road and Buckeye Road, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
After an internal investigation, the department said it turned over its findings to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
