He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, as Daily Voice reported. His death was quickly ruled a homicide.
No suspects had been arrested as of Wednesday, Nov. 12, and investigators did not speculate on a possible motive.
Now, Millwater’s sister, Corinne Millwater, is turning to the public for help in laying her brother to rest.
“We have suffered a lot of loss over the past few years. This loss being the greatest,” she wrote on a GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses. “Those of you who know him know that he showed up for anyone in need.”.
Millwater asked that those who cannot give financially consider sharing the fundraiser and praying for the family as they seek justice for Christopher. “Pray for our family that justice is served!”
Funeral services for Millwater are scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Giove Funeral Home in Selden.
Suffolk County Police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392. Anonymous tips can also be shared through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
