A 52-year-old man was found fatally injured on a residential Long Island road early Monday, Nov. 10, prompting a homicide investigation, police said.

Officers in Stony Brook responded to Shore Road, near the Stony Brook Yacht Club, around 3:40 a.m. Monday, where they discovered Christopher Millwater suffering from violent injuries, police said.

Millwater, of Selden, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and pronounced dead. An official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner's office.

Detectives did not immediately release details about what led to the attack or whether they believe Millwater was targeted.

No suspects had been arrested as of Monday afternoon.
