KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - On Wednesday night at the Lenoir County Board of Elections, a preliminary hearing was held regarding a protest against a Kinston City Councilman-elect.
Lenoir County GOP Chairman Sean Keenan alleged Les Lipford didn’t live in the city.
The board decided to dismiss the protest, motioning that there is not enough information to move forward with a hearing.
This comes after Keenan withdrew his protest against Quarla Blackwell, who didn’t win a seat on Kinston City Council.
Keenan says he will file an amended protest concerning Lipford’s residency first thing in the morning.
