ELLSWORTH, Maine (WABI) - There will be a recount in the race for Ellsworth City Council on Friday.
Three seats were open on the council.
John Linnehan, who has run for city council several times, asked for the recount after getting the fourth most votes, just two behind Marinna Smith.
The candidate receiving the second most votes, Carol Patterson-Martineau, received just two more votes than Smith.
The recount is open to the public.
It begins Friday morning at 9 a.m. in the City Council Chambers.
It will also be streamed live on the City’s YouTube channel.
