EAST LANSING — As the youngest of three kids, Emma Shumate went through plenty of shooting drills outside her house along with sister Katie and brother JT that were led by her father.
And through a product of many of those workouts, all three emerged as strong shooters.
Katie wound on going to play at Kent State and JT played at Toledo where each made their marks.
And Emma Shumate has followed in their footsteps by making her mark at the Division I level and she is in her second season doing that in the Michigan State women’s basketball program.
“I think I’ve always been a shooter,” Shumate said. “3s have always been my thing so transferring (it) to college was kind of immediate. I’m just keeping my confidence in that.”
