With the Dallas Mavericks finally showing Nico Harrison the door, there’s some sigh of relief that the team could perhaps heal again after the Luka Doncic trade fiasco. After all, they still have enough talent to compete for a playoff spot. That’s, of course, granted that everybody stays healthy.

Curiously, one current Maverick player has been in the news lately, not because of the trade but due to his struggles this season: Klay Thompson. For the four-time champ, joining Dallas on a three-year deal worth $50 million was a no-brainer last year. He thought he was joining a title contender with Doncic at the helm. However, recent reports surfaced that before signing with the Mavs, LA offered him more money in 2024.
