HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Forty-five student-athletes put pen to paper Wednesday morning in Waikiki, locking up their collegiate destinations on National Letter of Intent signing day.

The Sheraton Waikiki was packed as members of the class of 2026 committed to their respective colleges.

Campbell High’s Sophia Alo signed with the University of Texas at San Antonio.

“Take that pressure off my family,” Alo told Hawaii News Now. “It is amazing for me and I’m forever grateful for that. For me, it’s like I’ve always been surrounded by colleges, by my sisters, they went to college.”

She’s following the softball footsteps of her big sister, Jocelyn Alo, the NCAA career home-run leader, but is ready to carve out her own path on the diamond.
