LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Police say a person is in critical condition after being hit by a pickup truck in south Louisville Wednesday night.

Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the incident around 7 p.m. at Dixie Highway and W Blevins Gap Road.

Police said a pickup truck heading north on Dixie Highway hit a pedestrian. The person was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

All parties remained at the scene, according to police. They have not said whether charges will be filed.

LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
