NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans voters will weigh in on two proposed changes to the city's home rule charter this Saturday.
The first amendment deals with deadlines for updating the city’s master plan. If approved, it would give the City Planning Commission and City Council more time to act—up to 90 days— on the master plan or its amendments. That’s an extension from the current 60-day timeline for the City Planning Commission and 45-day timeline for the City Council. Supporters say it could allow for more thorough input and analysis, though it could also slow the process down.
