Harrison Shewchuk, the co-owner of Restaurant Limbo, says Google reviews are “a love-hate thing.” They matter, he said, but he’s more focused on the food and the staff and not what’s happening online.
The longtime Montreal chef opened the small Little Italy spot in March with Jack Zeppetelli, serving high-end, seasonal dishes. And dealing with reviews is part of the job, he says. But something was different about the reviews coming in on Monday morning.
“We woke up, and I was getting notifications of one-star reviews, an insane amount of them,” he said.
In total, there were about 25 of them, coming all at once.
The reviews also didn’t make sense, he said.
