BEAVER DAM, Wis. -- The data center being built in Beaver Dam will officially be operated by Meta , the company--that owns Facebook and Instagram--announced in partnership with Beaver Dam leadership Wednesday.

Meta representatives promised 1,000 construction jobs, 100 long-term jobs, a 100% clean and renewable energy match and a goal to be water positive by 2030, meaning the company will restore more water to the community than it consumes.

"We're going to put those policies into place here in Beaver Dam and have a very positive impact across the board," said Meta's Director of Data Center Community & Economic Development Brad Davis.

The $1 billion data center campus will be 700,000 square feet.
