WACO, Texas — It was a special day for student-athletes across Central Texas as dozens signed their letters of intent, turning lifelong dreams into reality. From Robinson to Lake Belton, Riesel to Groesbeck, athletes made their commitments official to compete at the next level.
At Robinson High School , four Rockets put pen to paper — including two state champion softball players.
Raelynn Van Zee, the Class 4A Division II state MVP pitcher, signed to play softball at Baylor University after leading the Rockets to their first state title since 1999.
“And then when I walk in at like 9:30 and I just look at my table, I just like start bawling,” Van Zee said. “I like just have happy tears. It's like it's always been a dream to go to Baylor to play softball, so I'm just like so excited.”
