DERBY, Kan. (KWCH) - The Derby Police Department issued a Purple Alert for a 57-year-old man reported missing from his home at Westview Manor, in Derby. There are mental and physical health concerns for Ruben A. Salazar who, police said, suffers from Parkinson’s and diabetes.

Purple Alerts are issued to provide the public with notices of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities reported missing.

Salazar is described as having a height of 5′5 and weighing about 200 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Derby police said he was last seen wearing a maroon, long-sleeve shirt, white sweatpants with a red splatter design on the bottom and black shoes.

Police said that Salazar utilizes a wheelchair and was reported missing after leaving Via Christi St. Joseph hospital in Wich
