Six journalists before him had died trying to tell the same story.  Robert Domm was not a journalist but when the ABC asked him to be smuggled, by the resistance, into the jungles of occupied East Timor to meet a little-known resistance leader, he said yes.

Robert Domm died this week. Mark Aarons, the ABC journalist who had sent him on this dangerous mission remembered his extraordinary courage, his near miss when trying to smuggle the taped interview out, and the clever way the tapes were disguised.
