BELTON — “Damn. That’s a lot of blood,” the Killeen Police Department patrol officer can be heard saying to himself on body-worn camera footage that was shown to a jury on Wednesday.

It was the afternoon of Feb. 3, 2020, and Officer Andrew Papp was standing near a cushioned window nook where a woman had been writing in her notebook before being shot, through two walls, by her then-husband in their apartment.

Papp was one of the first people to testify when the state began presenting its evidence on Wednesday morning because his body-worn camera showed the intense scene after police were called to the apartment complex in the 100 block of South Twin Creek Drive.
